This endowed fund was established by Dr. Witterick's Rhinology & Skull Base Surgery Fellows. It honours his commitment to mentorship in otolaryngology and the extensive impact he has had on surgical education and training at U of T. Please join his fellows in acknowledging his life-long dedication to mentorship and the significant positive influence he has had on the careers of many young surgeons.
In 1985, the Department established the Alumni Trust Fund. This fund holds annual dues and other donations to the Department from alumni. Funds are invested in the University’s Expendable Funds Investment Pool (EFIP) so as to earn a maximum rate of return. Expenditures from the fund are at the discretion of the Chair, however the fund has traditionally been used to enhance the teaching and research components of the Department’s programs.
As of June 2016, there are over 297 graduates of the residency program, and over 423 fellows who have completed a fellowship in the department. These graduates and fellows are scattered globally and are a great source of pride for the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery. A number of receptions are held in conjuction with society meetings in Canada and the US. Annually a dinner is held in Toronto where graduates from the residency program are honoured.
